The Read Smart Podcast S2 Episode 4: The Cutting Room Floor

In the latest episode of the Read Smart podcast, host Razia Iqbal is joined by biographer and previous Baillie Gifford Prize judge Frances Wilson and writer Jasper Rees.

Together, Razia and guests explore what biographers should leave on the ‘cutting room floor’, and Jasper and Frances speak on their own experience of writing and researching biographies. The podcast closes on the topic of the recent withdrawal by the US publisher WW Norton of Blake Bailey’s long awaited biography of Philip Roth.

Each month, Razia will be hosting a variety of guests, from prize winning authors and Baillie Gifford Prize judges to publishing insiders, to talk about the world of non-fiction. You can catch up on our previous episodes of the Read Smart podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Entale and Stitcher.
