For the past two decades, the Foundation has contributed to the Birthright Israel Foundation, created to give Jewish young adults a life-changing trip to Israel to learn more about their culture.

The Blavatnik Archive exhibit, "Idealizing Zion", at the Center for Jewish History

The Center for Jewish History

The Foundation is an active supporter of the Center for Jewish History, home to the world’s largest collection of Jewish history outside of Israel. Foundation funding has supported ongoing preservation, digitization, and archival processing of the collections held by the Center’s five in-house partners – the American Jewish Historical Society, the American Sephardi Federation, the Leo Baeck Institute, the Yeshiva University Museum, and the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research.

Colel Chabad

Over the years, the Foundation has given lasting support to Colel Chabad, the oldest operating charitable organization in Israel providing life preserving assistance to people in Israel regardless of gender, age, marital status, ethnicity, or religious observance. The Foundation's support helps to provide a home for individuals with multiple sclerosis, as well as food for families with special needs, medical and dental care, day care centers, and orphanages. Colel Chabad’s Blavatnik Absorption Center in Jerusalem provides a full range of services to Russian speaking immigrants, offering job counselling, senior programs, and other programs to help immigrants integrate with their new culture. In addition, Colel Chabad’s Larissa Blavatnik Network of Daycare Centers provides daycare services for children in low-income households in multiple cities and towns throughout the country.

The Foundation provided funds to help create the School of Hebrew at Middlebury and further the school’s mission to develop a pipeline of highly competent teachers and practitioners of Hebrew at all levels of teaching. The Foundation has also established the Blavatnik Family Fund for Russian and Israeli Studies at Middlebury providing scholarship money to students in those fields.
