Blavatnik Archive Curriculum Writing Teacher Fellowship

The Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University is accepting applications for the 2026–2027 Blavatnik Archive Teacher Fellowship, a free curriculum-writing program for K–14 educators offered in collaboration with the Blavatnik Archive. This year’s theme, Reading Visual Propaganda, will invite fellows to examine twentieth-century visual materials from the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, including posters, postcards, letters, newspaper illustrations, and photographs. Through a six-part webinar series and expert guidance, participants will develop classroom-ready unit plans using primary sources from the Blavatnik Archive. Educators who complete the fellowship will receive 20 PDPs/contact hours, and selected curriculum materials may be featured by the Davis Center and the Blavatnik Archive. Introduction to Blavatnik Archive’s Open-Access Digital Collections

On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 6:30–8:00 p.m. EDT, the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University will host an online presentation introducing the Blavatnik Archive’s open-access digital collections on Soviet history, World War II, 20th-century Jewish culture, and the Holocaust. The program will highlight primary source materials—including postcards, photographs, posters, illustrations, and letters—and explore how educators and scholars can use the Archive’s digital tools for research, teaching, and classroom engagement. The event will feature Julie Reines Chervinsky, Director of the Blavatnik Archive, and Brandon Schechter, Historian at the Blavatnik Archive.

Mount Sinai Health System Launches Women’s Health Video Podcast HERology

Mount Sinai Health System has launched HERology, a new women’s health video podcast designed to offer accessible, expert-led conversations on care across the lifespan and powered by the Carolyn Rowan Center for Women’s Health and Wellness, which is opening in May 2026 on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The show is cohosted by Joanne L. Stone, MD, along with Leslee Shaw, PhD, Director of the Blavatnik Family Women’s Health Research Institute, and Anna Barbieri, MD, with Anuradha Lala, MD, serving as a contributing co-host. The launch reflects Mount Sinai’s broader effort to connect clinical expertise, research, and public education in women’s health through a multidisciplinary platform. The podcast will be released every two weeks across major streaming platforms, extending Mount Sinai’s outreach beyond the clinical setting.

V&A East Storehouse and Norwich Castle Among Finalists for Museum of the Year

V&A East Storehouse has been named a finalist for the 2026 Art Fund Museum of the Year prize, recognizing the new East London site for its fresh approach to public engagement and access to collections. Located in the Olympic Park in Stratford, the space has rethought how museum collections can be experienced by opening up storage and display in ways that bring visitors into closer contact with the V&A’s holdings. The winner of the £120,000 prize will be announced on June 25, 2026, at the Cutty Sark in London. In 2023, the Foundation and Warner Music Group jointly provided £10 million to create The David Bowie Centre for the Study of Performing Arts at V&A East and to secure 90,000 items from the David Bowie Archive for the nation and the public.
