One of the Blavatnik School’s first Political Leadership Scholars, Keir Mather and former Chief Operating Officer and Senior Fellow in Public Management, Calum Miller, were sworn into the UK Parliament last week, after winning seats for the Labour Party in Selby and Ainsty and the Liberal Democrats in Bicester and Woodstock respectively. They join almost 350 Blavatnik School faculty and alumni working in governments or intergovernmental organisations across 74 different countries around the world.
Viviana Gradinaru, a 2021 Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientist National Finalist, has been named one of Carnegie Corporation's Great Immigrants of 2024. Comprised of naturalized citizens from 16 countries, honorees are recognized for their work in science, public service, education, health, journalism, the arts, and business, among other fields. Gradinaru’s research has focused on developing technologies for neuroscience that are used to probe circuits underlying locomotion, reward, and sleep, and she has explored the benefits of deep brain stimulation for patients with Parkinson’s disease.
The Blavatnik Archive and the Center for Jewish History are excited to announce an upcoming exhibit on the famous Dreyfus Affair as seen through the lens of “Dreyfusard” and “anti-Dreyfusard” postcards from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
"Illinoise" began performances and opened on Broadway April 24, 2024 at the St. James. The musical is inspired by Sufjan Stevens' album "Illinois" and features direction and choreography by Peck. The Foundation supported "Illinoise" during its premiere at the Fisher Center at Bard in 2023.
